Nimrod Studio Orchestra
Nimrod Studio Orchestra

Many top-end games are now boasting the impressive sound of the Nimrod Studio Orchestra. The energy, the rich, cohesive strings, vivid lead lines, tight brass and punchy percussion are being commended by all of Nimrod's clients and recognised by reviewers and game players worldwide.

The NSO has been involved in many varied projects and has recorded in numerous London and UK-based studios, employing top-flight recording and production techniques. The size and composition of the NSO have been adapted to the composer’s needs and resources, employing the power of the 80-strong orchestra at the Abbey Road Studio 1 for such blockbuster soundtracks as 24: The Game or smaller ensembles for more experimental scores as Fry Cry 2.

The NSO is a world-class ensemble made up of players individually chosen from among London’s best session musicians. Without knowing it you might have already heard some of them performing on such films as Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter or seen them on stage with the London Symphony Orchestra! The NSO is set apart not only by the standard of the players but also by the experience and breadth of knowledge of the Nimrod team. It’s conducted by Nimrod’s own Orchestral Director Jonathan Williams who, as well as conducting the orchestra, is involved at all stages in the production of orchestral scores, from composing and orchestrating to the creation of performing parts and scores. The orchestra’s leader is Andrew Haveron, the first violin of the internationally acclaimed Brodsky Quartet – whom you may have heard in their collaborations with Elvis Costello and Björk. The orchestra is managed by superstar double bass player Stacey Watton, who selects our players from the pick of the London session, orchestral and chamber music scenes.
