The folk at Nimrod are thrilled to have been nominated for a Develop Industry Excellence Award. It's been a diverse and busy year at Nimrod HQ, working on many exciting projects that include Wii Fit, Pokemon Battle Revolution, Battlefield Heroes, Far Cry 2 and Alone in the Dark - utilising either our music production, composition, music supervision and voice recording services. The results will be announced on 30th July.

Nimrod announces a partnership with Marc Marot

Nimrod announces a partnership with Marc Marot, the former president of Island Records and Chairman and CEO of Terra Firma Management Ltd. Marc is hugely experienced in film music supervision and he'll be helping Nimrod in the development of this important side of the company's business. Marot's credits range from 'Angel Heart' at the beginning of his career to 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', and the 4 million selling 'Notting Hill' soundtrack. Marc has recently been appointed as head of music for the newly formed $106,000,000 UK based film production fund 'CinemaNX'. He's currently supervising director Richard Linklater's new movie 'Me and Orson Welles'.

Baaba Maal

Marc has been working in the studio with legendry Senegalese vocalist Baaba Maal on the Far Cry 2 soundtrack. Baaba is known in the film world for his haunting vocals on the Hans Zimmer soundtrack 'Black Hawk Down'. For more info on Baaba visit www.baabamaal.tv

Nimrod have just finished the rather epic voice recording project for the highly anticipated Wii Fit project featuring the very cool Wii Board. We hoped the energetic nature of this project would have inspired us to get really fit and healthy in the new year... it didn’t.

Little Fish - making waves

One of the hottest indie bands on the gigging scene in the UK at the moment - Little Fish are starting to build up one hell of a following thanks to their awesome live performances. Reservoir Dogs BAFTA nomination

The soundtrack to ‘Reservoir Dogs’ has been nominated for Best Soundtrack at this years BAFTA awards – the team at Nimrod created 10 original 1970/80s inspired tracks for the game to accompany the licensed soundtrack.

Reservoir Dogs game soundtrack

The upcoming release of the game version of the Tarrantino classic ‘Reservoir Dogs' will feature an original score composed and produced by Marc Canham and Richard Aitken. The game will also feature the tracks that are synonymous with the film, but to create a more expansive sound an extra element of 1960s/70s influenced music was created at Nimrod studios to compliment these classic tracks...

Following Nimrod's collaboration with NYC greats such as Public Enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Suicide, Arthur Baker and the fantastic Yeah Yeah Yeahs people have been raving about this fantastic soundtrack spanning the 1970s to the present day. Combined with an original score composed by Marc Canham the response has been overwhelming with comments from the press such as “You can't fail to be wowed by the soundtrack” (OPSM) and “The soundtrack is awesome. Four words: Turn it up, fool.” (Stuff Magazine)...

GDC Audio Boot Camp

Marc was invited to present a keynote speech at the Audio Boot Camp at this years GDC conference in San Jose. The keynote covered the trails and tribulations of running a large scale audio production from start to finish, highlighting many of the creative, practical and marketing concerns involved with ‘Driver Parallel Lines'. The Audio Boot Camp was a huge success largely thanks to all the speakers, listeners and the ever-ready guys from Microsoft and SCEE who ran the show...

24: The Game

Work has now finished on the 24: The Game orchestral soundtrack recorded by the Nimrod Studio Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. Sean Callery's intelligent compositions were orchestrated by Jonathan Williams and produced, mixed and mastered at Nimrod's recently refurbished studios in Oxfordshire by Rich Aitken. The final results were stunning and as a result Fox Music now aim to give fans the opportunity to hear the Nimrod recordings thanks to the new ‘24' album set for release in the near future...

Nimrod have recently completed orchestral production and mix work on the main theme of the upcoming Getaway : Gangs of London PSP title. The Nimrod Studio Orchestra performed the theme at the world-famous CTS Studio in Watford that was the venue for recording large sections of the score for Lord of the Rings...
