Stop the Press!! The Secret World ISN'T quite finished! We thought the job had been done back in October but Funcom have loved the dark score from Marc Canham so much they've decided to commission recording it at Abbey Road... hurrah!! We'll be there with the usual team in February...

Killzone 3

Killzone 3 has been nominated at the "Music and Sound awards ". The score, from our great friend Joris de Man, was recorded at Abbey Road and produced by Nimrod's Rich Aitken. Joris picked up an Ivor Novello for his great work in this brilliant game series from Guerrilla Games ....fingers crossed!!

TIGA and PRS

Sergio will be giving a talk at the upcoming "Gaming meets music" event. Entitled "Enterprise Point of View. Developing, distributing & music supervision" the session targets music-using gaming start-ups and will address business-modelling, licensing and rights questions.

Ghosts and other evils...

We've been doing a few last minute music tweaks for some extra elements in Pat Holdens new ghost thriller movie. Marc dragged out the piano and furiously pulled together what can only be described as "hideous brutal joy". 'When The Lights Went Out' will be featured at the Sundance Film Festival

A world of secret ambience

We've just delivered the final masters for some beautifully dark music within Funcoms "the Secret World". Fabulous ominous textures with oodles of subtle live percussion and scarred quartet string drones. Canham's TSW score is now complete, the world has just got a little darker.

Secret World

The combat music for the Secret World has been finished. Without giving too much away, it's all pretty complex and super FMOD related! Kudos to Simon Poole at Funcom for great overall vision for the mechanics of the combat music. It's heavy!

Driver SF

The Driver demo's are out! Looks awesome and, more importantly, sounds great too. Nice job Jon Vincent! The OST features some great modern slasher funk from Marc Canham, a few hidden surprises and a great collaboration with UNKLE!

Secret World trailer

Marc has been composing the music for the next Secret World trailer from Funcom. The mix was done at Nimrod by Rich Aitken with a fantastic sound effects job coming from the Alexandre Saba at Funcom. It's a great trailer .... keep your eyes peeled!

Nimrod Music Licensing

Nimrod are pleased to announce that Sergio Pimentel will be joining us as Music Licensing Director. Sergios 12 year game history is impressive; He set up the Music Licensing Department at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe working on AAA brands SingStar, Gran Turismo, Little Big Planet, and Wipeout. More recently he headed up Activison Blizzard's European licensing department engaged with the likes of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero.

Speak No Evil

Marc Canham has been confirmed as the composer for Pat Holden's new ghost thriller movie. The work will be recorded at Nimrod studio.

The Secret World

Marc Canham has been signed up to compose the music for "The Secret World" from Funcom. The game looks incredible and we're thrilled to be on board. Marc is working on a score that will be "dark but dry"

Nimrod endorse Prism sound

Nimrod have taken delivery of a set of these fine audio converters for the studio. "Prism are world leaders in studio audio equipment, we're pleased to add our endorsement to a world class company" said Rich Aitken. The new equipment will be installed in Marc's writing room.

Killzone 3

November 2010

Joris de Mans new score for Killzone 3 is being orchestrated, recorded at Abbey Road and mixed all in the space of 4 weeks in November! Rich Aitken will be mixing at Nimrod.

We're doing some more awesome hell-funk music for the next Ubisoft Driver game. The Abbey Road recorded and superstar remixed killer theme has also been delivered.

We've taken delivery of a new surround set up from SP Acoustic in the main mix room! An absolutely incredible set of full range monitors. The monitoring chain at Nimrod is truly world class.

Singstar Guitar

Rich has been busy working on the new edition of Singstar Guitar, mixing multi-tracks from awesome bands from the last 40 years. Having a Neve console came in handy for this exciting project!!!

Games Horizon

Rich will be attending the Newcastle conference on Tuesday 29th June as part of the Generator Music & Games Workshop session. Maybe even a quick drink at the party afterwards ....

Split second features a massive array of Nimrod orchestral/breakbeat tunes. Black Rock have done a fantastic job of the sound on this Disney title - everything just sits incredibly well.

The Disappearance of Alice Creed released

The movie, starring Gemma Arterton and Eddie Marsan, was scored by Nimrod's own Marc Canham. Recording took place at Abbey Road in 2009. Total Film name checked the score as a key factor in "revving up the tension". An official soundtrack is out on May 2nd.

Marc has recently finished scoring his debut feature film - already previewed at the Toronto Film Festival to amazing reviews, and soon to be at the BFI London Film Festival in October, we should be looking forward to a worldwide release early 2010!
